FAQ
1. What is the difference between PU and BioPU?
PU (polyurethane) and Bio-PU (bio-polyurethane) differ mainly in their raw materials and environmental impact:
The main difference between bio-PU (bio-based polyurethane) and conventional PU (polyurethane) lies in the raw materials used. Bio-PU is made from renewable sources such as vegetable oils, while PU is based on fossil raw materials[2][5]. Bio-PU often does not contain harmful chemicals such as isocyanates and solvents, making it more environmentally friendly[1][3]. Both materials offer similar mechanical properties, however, bio-PU offers additional advantages such as biodegradability and recyclability[2][4].

2. How are the materials colored?
The leather is dyed during the bio-resin manufacturing process. Organic pigments are used together with the natural cactus chlorophyll.

3. Are dangerous chemicals used?
The materials are free of toxic chemicals, phthalates and PVC.

4. Is cactus a more sustainable raw material than other plants?
Yes. The cactus is one of the most sustainable raw materials that can be relied upon to create a product, thanks to its intrinsic sustainability and resilience. This plant should naturally be considered one of nature's wonders!

5. Is there PU in Desserto®️ materials?
Desserto®️ is a different material due to its special formula. Desserto®️ produces its own biopolymer, which is partly made of organic, renewable compounds.

6. How is a biopolymer sustainable?
Environmentally friendly biopolymers are made from renewable resources such as cactus or are biodegradable or compostable, thereby reducing the demand for fossil fuels.

7. Is there a life cycle analysis (LCA) for Desserto®️?
Yes. Please click here to view Desserto®️'s e-LCA results. https://desserto.com.mx/e-lca
8. I have placed an order but have not yet received an order confirmation email, what should I do?
Please check first whether you have entered your correct email address.
The order confirmation is always sent to the email address you provided when placing your order or with which you log into your customer account.
If the email address is correct, please check whether the order confirmation may have ended up in your spam filter.
If you cannot find your order confirmation there either, contact us via the contact form or via chat.
9. How long does a delivery take?
We strive to ship orders as quickly as possible. Your package should arrive within 3-5 working days.
Exceptional cases, such as deliveries abroad, deviate from this.
10. I want to return an item, how do I proceed?
You have a 14-day right of withdrawal. This means you have the option to exchange or cancel the product within 14 days of receiving it.
Please see the Right of Withdrawal tab to see how the refund process works.
11. How does package tracking work?
You can track the progress of your package at any time using the package tracking. The tracking number created for your order and the corresponding link will be sent to you by email on the day of dispatch.
Here you can track the delivery status of your order at any time.
The tracking number only becomes active once the package has been scanned by the parcel service. If it is not active yet, please be patient.
